Kiwi Basil Lemonade

This kiwi basil lemonade is just what you need on a really hot day! Not too tangy, not too sweet…its something everyone will love!

Summers in Delhi can be too hot to handle..and its not even raining yet, so it gets pretty unbearable. If you’re a Delhiite you know what I mean and you probably have a refrigerator full of lemons, tang and coconut water to beat the heat too. I keep my refrigerator stocked with plenty of fluids but sometimes a simple lemonade is not enough to quench that thirst, I had no intention of coming up with this brilliant idea but I had a few kiwis lying around that were super ripe and needed to be used asap, so I pureed them and added the puree to my lemonade and It tasted like pure *BLISS*.

Basil is something I added to add a kick to the lemonade, I wanted to use it in my drinks for quite sometime now so I did here..and it tasted spectacular. The flavour wasn’t overpowering and it tasted great against the tanginess of the kiwi and lemons.This Kiwi Basil Lemonade really is perfect for this weather and so easy, you can just make it anytime you want ! As a bonus, this lemonade looks fancy too..so if you’re having guests over, I’m sure they’d appreciate a glass  pitcher full of this stuff. :p

RECIPE: Kiwi Basil Lemonade

Makes: 2 glasses    Time: 5-10 minutes

INGREDIENTS

• Lemon Juice, 2 tablespoons
• Sugar Syrup, 2-3 tablespoons
• Black Salt, 2 pinches
• Water, 2 glasses
• Kiwi Fruit, 2 (make sure its ripe)
• Basil Leaves, a few
• Ice Cubes

METHOD

Peel the kiwis and puree them along with a few basil leaves.

In a jar mix together lemon juice, sugar syrup, black salt and water. Add in the kiwi basil puree and ice cubes. Mix it up and its ready!
